Our home is located in the South East area of Calgary ( Alberta , Canada ), within the community of Douglasdale Estates. It is situated about 15 minutes from downtown, 30 minutes from the international airport, and one block from the local bus stop. Click here for a map of its approximate location.
Douglasdale Estates community
Douglasdale Estates started as an 18-hole executive-style golf course and a few houses, but today Douglasdale is a well-planned major community.
Douglasdale Estates Inc. started the community in 1982. Douglasdale Estates comprises an area of approximately 328 hectares along the East of the Bow River and South of Anderson Road between Deerfoot Trail and the community of McKenzie.
Douglasdale is a quiet community with good downtown access thanks to the nearby Deerfoot Trail. It is the perfect location to enjoy the finest things life has to offer – Rocky Mountain and golf course views, restaurants, shopping centres (including Southcentre), the breathtaking Bow River valley and easy access to Fish Creek Provincial Park (where Sikome Lake provides opportunities for safe swimming). Douglasdale also has access to Calgary 's pathway system via a pedestrian bridge located on the South side of Deerfoot Trail bridge over the Bow River .
